It is not fed by any brook or stream, the only water supply is the rain, therefore, the water of the lake is nearly as pure as distilled water.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2.<\/strong> The county is integral part of\u00a0the <strong>Sekler<\/strong> community and region, its inhabitants are 85% Szeklers (Hungarian people living in the ethno-cultural region in eastern Transylvania), 14% Romanians and 1% other nationalities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>3.<\/strong> The <strong>climate<\/strong> is typical of intra-mountain regions. Because of roughly low temperatures in some of the regions, the county is called Romania\u2019s \"North Pole\".<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>4.<\/strong> There are\u00a0over 2000\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.transylvaniatop10.com\/HU\/Csikszereda\/Around\/16.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">mineral water\u00a0springs<\/a><\/strong> - utilized mostly for therapeutic purposes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>5.<\/strong> We are very proud of our\u00a0authentic\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.szekelytermek.ro\/?l=hu&amp;m=szekely-termekek\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Szekler\u00a0products<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0which consists mostly of bio food (including the very famous \u201ek\u00fcrt\u00f6skal\u00e1cs\u201d) and handcrafts.\u00a0Every third Saturday of the month we organize an open-air market, where local people can sell their home-made products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>6.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.csiksomlyo.ro\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cs\u00edksomly\u00f3<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is one of the most important pilgrimage places of the Szeklers, and also here lies the famous baroque church built in 1876.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>7.<\/strong> Harghita county is a special point of <strong>tourist interest<\/strong>. In the Clearing of Narcissus, with a surface of 30 ha, are a density of 180-200 flowers per square meter.\u00a0The narcissus blossoms\u00a0late in May and\u00a0in early June, creating a fairy landscape around the town of Szentegyh\u00e1za.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>8.<\/strong> Due to its particular climate, Harghita county has a long standing\u00a0tradition\u00a0in\u00a0<strong>winter\u00a0sports<\/strong>, being the cradle of ice hockey in Romania. Our athletes have outstanding achievements also in speed-skating, figure-skating, nordic skiing, alpine skiing, biathlon and bobsled. The best known ski tracks are in Hargitaf\u00fcrd\u0151 (Harghita B\u0103i), Madarasi Harghita (Harghita M\u0103d\u0103ra\u015f), Marosh\u00e9v\u00edz (Izvoru Mure\u015f) and Homor\u00f3d (Homorod Resort).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>9.<\/strong> One of the seven Transylvanian villages with fortified churches on the\u00a0UNESCO World\u00a0Heritage list is <strong>Sz\u00e9kelyderzs<\/strong> (D\u00e2rjiu) from Harghita County, which provides a vivid picture of the cultural landscape of southern Transylvania.
