Borsz\u00e9k takes a pioneering role by introducing new, innovative teaching methods. The implementation of the STEAM teaching method was discussed in Borsz\u00e9k after the handover of the renovated Fairy Garden kindergarten on t4th of October. A so called lego-based education will also start in the kindergarten, in partnership with the St. Nicholas Greek Catholic School and Kindergarten in Edel\u00e9ny, Hungary. With this new kind of education, they would teach maths, hopefully with greater efficiency. According to the report of Mayor J\u00f3zsef, the teachers had previously participated iat service training, they had already acquired the necessary legotools, that the children can try out.<\/span><\/p>\n

- We need to move beyond outdated methods, incorporate innovative methods into education because children are susceptible to it. We want to act as pioneers in Borsz\u00e9k in this respect - J\u00f3zsef Mik detailed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The mayor would like to create a so-called Samsung room in the future and put the STEAM teaching method into practice at the institution, for which the institution would have professional background in cooperation with the University of \u00d3buda.<\/span><\/p>\n

Csaba Borboly, President of Harghita County Council and preseint the European Commission of the Regions, recently produced an in-depth report entitled Strengthening STEAM education in the EU. Following the handover, in addition to the mayor, president Csaba Borboly and Vicepresident Tiham\u00e9r Barti discussed with the representatives of the University of \u00d3budaa about a topic that Harghita County Council would participate in theinitiative as a partner.<\/span><\/p>\n

The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, MathematicsandArts) teaching method is based on encouraging students to solve project-like tasks by building closely on the subjects currently taught separately in Romania. Nice results and developments are realized in Borsz\u00e9k. I am particularly pleased that there isalso a strong emphasis on teaching methods focused on experiential and project-based tasks. Once children have mastered the features of the STEAM method in kindergarten, they will be able to acquire knowledge that will be met in the changing needs of thelabor market.This is another opportunity for our region to break out and start new businesses. Today, we are witnessing a shift in our world towards robotics and digitalisation, for which we need to catch up in time by educating professionals, the county council president added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Negotiations\u00a0 have also begun in Miercurea Ciuc to introduce the STEAM teaching method, but Harghita County Council is looking for additional partners in all regions of the county.<\/span><\/p>\n
