Between 20th and 24th of May in Lupeni the 7th health evaluation program was organized by the General Assembly of B\u00e1cs-Kiskun county, the twinning county of Harghita county in collaboration with Harghita County Council.\u00a0 At the end of the event the press conference was held in the Mayor\u2019s Office in Lupeni.<\/p>\n
Mayor of Lupeni, Mr. Lehel Kov\u00e1cs expressed his gratitude for the nine specialists of B\u00e1cs-Kiskun County for their hard work dedicated within the health evaluation program. This program proved to be very successful since during 5 days approximately 770 persons participated in it.<\/p>\n
Mr. G\u00e1bor B\u00e1nyai, the president of the General Assembly of B\u00e1cs-Kiskun County shared with the participants that they made the decision about starting this program after the Nyiko-valley\u2019s flooding. The first stage of this project was implemented in \u0218imone\u0219ti then in V\u0103rsag, Dealu, Ciumani, Lunca de Sus, Ocland and now after seven years the health evaluation program is organized in Lupeni also. He thanked the dedicated job and successful organization of the county council, of the local government as well as of the local medical institution. He also accentuated that despite of investing a lot of money in organizing this event, important is that the doctors do their jobs with a lot of care and enthusiasm, in order to offer assistance for the local population. For example, in several cases owned to the program, serious diseases may be prevented in due time. The president of the general assembly was pleased that after their visit in 2009, the local government of V\u0103r\u0219ag together with the hospital in the county built two timber houses in V\u0103r\u0219ag valley for offering accommodation for the tourists coming from B\u00e1cs-Kiskun County. He said that these gestures are strengthening the fruitful twinning relationship between the two counties. As he mentioned during the press conference \u201cI\u2019m happy that in the past we decided to start this project, and I promise that we will organize it again in the next year in the settlement proposed by Harghita County Council.\u201d He also\u00a0highlighted that in the past 7 years approximately 10.000 people were given medical assistance within the framework of the health evaluation program.<\/p>\n
On behalf of Harghita County Council, the vice-president, Mr. J\u00f3zsef Birtalan expressed his gratefulness saying that \u201cI would like to thank all the hard, voluntary and unselfish work of the doctors from B\u00e1cs-KiskunCounty. This program is very important for the county since nearly 1000 people in HarghitaCounty are the beneficiaries of it every year. We hope this years\u2019 program\u2019s good results will be exemplary and they will have an encouraging effect also for the people living in other sides of the county. Hence, the aim of the program is also to raise people\u2019s awareness to pay more attention to their health and to even consider periodically going to health evaluations for preventing diseases. This program also strengthens the sense of belonging, because besides the practical benefits and results, in Seklerland the symbolic value and message of the collaboration and implemented programs are very significant.\u201d The vice-president of Hargita County Council was also expressing his pleasure for the fact that the guests who participated in the program, beyond the hard work, could gain insight in the life of the community, get acquainted with the local people and the beauty of the local landscapes.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Gy\u00f6ngyi Tarr, the director of Public Health Directorate of Harghita County drew the attention of this program\u2019 utility: \u201cEveryone in this country who has a medical insurance, once a year should go to a general medical examination, however, unfortunately people rarely do this. Those who once visit these kinds of programs are going to care much more about themselves after that\u201d.<\/p>\n
Mr. Dr. Gy\u00f6rgy M\u00f3cza, chief doctor and Mr. Dr. Mih\u00e1ly Sv\u00e9bis, hospital director in Kecskem\u00e9t, Hungary said that in the course of the program they found serious health problems too. They will send these results to their partners for the purpose of further examination. Among their partners, they were particularly grateful for the Hospital Management in Odorheiu Secuiesc for borrowing them the necessary medical equipments. At the same time they spoke with great recognition about the local doctors\u2019 work in the settlement.<\/p>\n
Mr. Antal Luk\u00e1cs, hospital manager in Odorheiu Secuiesc thanked the fruitful job of the past seven years and expressed his hope that this project will be continued in the future as well.<\/p>\n
The local family doctors, namely Mr. Istv\u00e1n V\u00e1radi and Mrs. Ibolya Mih\u00e1ly also expressed their gratitude for the successful collaboration.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Erika Zonda, general director of the Programmes and Subordinated Institutions General Directorate of Harghita County Council, thanked the efficient work and collaboration of the team B\u00e1cs-KiskunCounty, the partners in Lupeni, and the colleagues of the general directorate.<\/p>\n
The next years\u2019 health evaluation program is planned to be organized somewhere in the area of Gheorgheni, in HarghitaCounty.<\/p>\n
