Borboly Csaba was elected rapporteur for the Implementation of the renewed framework for European cooperation in the youth field (2010-2018) in the Committe of the Regions during the Commission for Social Policy, Education, Employment, Research and Culture (SEDEC) meeting in Brusseles on 22nd September 2015. The president of Harghita County Council is an active member 2012 and this is his third opinion in the Committee of the Regions.
Csaba Borboly thanked for the support of European People's Party fraction present at the meeting and the SEDEC commission’s coordinator of the European People's Party, Alin-Adrian Nica and the solid vote of the commission members. As stated, his old dream came true for being able to tackle the problem of the youth at this level, continuing what he has done since childhood in numerous youth organizations.
"Due to the reason I’ve worked in youth organizations, I consider the assignment a true challenge, and at the same time a great opportunity, to present the interests of young people from our region. While drafting the document I will hold wide range of consultations as I believe that the biggest problem in Europe is that most of the time politicians are neglectful with young people.
Politicians do not pay enough attention to the youth problems, and this can have unexpected consequences which must be recognized by the political elite. There is need for such European regulations, which are obliging decision-making bodies to take into account not only the social class representing secure voters, but also those who believe that their presence is indifferent to the vote, mainly part of the young generations. There is need for European level actions to achieve that the motivation of young people to plan their lives in their home countries, instead of emigrating. I am glad that Mr. Navracsics Tibor is the commissioner of the European Commission for this field, so we will be able to communicate easily – stated the president of Harghita County Council
