Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (DAHR), Organization of Csík Region
Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania is the main political organization representing the ethnic Hungarians of Romania. Officially organized as a political alliance (not as a party), DAHR nevertheless acts as one of the main parties of Romania. From 1996 until the 2008 Romanian legislative elections, the alliance was a member or supporter of every government. After the 2008 elections, DAHR entered in opposition, but at the end of 2009 it became once again the member of the government coalition. There are 28 organizations in different regions, one of them is the Organization of Csík Region. Its main objective is to provide legal assistance and to represent the interests of the Hungarians living in Romania.
Csaba Borboly is an elected member of the organization since 1994, president of the delegation of Csík Region between 2003 and 2007, and since 2007 he is its president.
