Activity report of Csaba Borboly as member of the Committee of the Regions for 2012-2014 period can be downloaded in Romanian language: Activity report 2012-2014
The Committee of the Regions is the regions’ and local authorities’ voice in the European project. The Committee of the Regions brings the EU closer to its citizens. Since 70% of EU legislation has a direct regional and local impact: EU citizens must be involved in the construction of the EU and the elected authorities closest to citizens should be able to communicate their views during the preparation of EU legislation. Since its establishment in 1994, the CoR has worked to bring citizens closer to the European Union. In 2009, the Lisbon Treaty strengthened recognition of the Committee of the Regions’ role. Its three fundamental principles are subsidiarity, proximity and partnership.
Borboly Csaba is an active member since October 2012, working in Education, Youth, Culture and Research (EDUC) and Environment, Climate Change and Energy (ENVE) commissions, being in the same time member of the European People’s Party (EPP).
