Between 5th and 9th of March the ITB International Tourism Fair was organised in Berlin, where the partners of the Recultivatur project presented project results as well as religious tourism products within the framework of a common stand. On behalf of Harghita County Council Mr. Barna Szabó, county manager and colleagues of the project team were present, aiming to promote the religious tourism of Harghita County through pilgrimage guides, promotional brochures and presentation videos/films.
Harghita County Council participates in the project owned to the planned and developed spiritual way for tourists in the county, being part of the so-called Way of Mary (Via Mariæ) pilgrims way. This touristic and religious way is built together by the concerned nations of central Europe to the honour of Virgin Mary. Through this road network, connecting the Shrines of Mary, it would not be interfered any historical, cultural or religious differences. The aim is to build up a unified tourist and pilgrim’s way encompassing the different religious values of Central Europe, aiming to create a network between these places: in the East-West direction between Mariazell, Budapest, Máriapócs and Șumuleu Ciuc (Csíksomlyó) and in the North-South direction between Czestochowa, Esztergom, Budapest and Medjugorje. Consequently, this project as part of the touristic strategy contributes to the realisation of Together for a stable future! framework programme of Harghita County Council (http://biztosjovo.hargitamegye.ro/).
