European Day of Creativity in Miercurea Ciuc

Harghita County Council organized for the second time the European Creativity Day on 21st of March, in Miercurea Ciuc. The event is part of the CreArt international project. In the consortium there are 14 partner institutions from 10 EU countries, and from Romania, besides Harghita County Council the Cultural Centre of Arad County is partner as well. The project aims to create a European network of art, which enhances the mobility of visual arts, encourages young people to create, and gives a wider insight in the creative processes. Through all these it has a positive effect on widening the scale of professional directions, contributing to one’s own personality development.
The exhibition was held at the County Hall Gallery of Harghita County Council, where nine artists of more art sectors - painting, photography, film, installations – were present: József Fülöp, Szende Melinda Gidó, Zsolt Iochom, Ödön Nagy, Melinda Nagy, Boróka Piros and Hajnal Vitos. The exhibition was opened by Ms. Erika Zonda, general director at the General Directorate of Programs and Coordinated Institutions of Harghita County Council, by Mr. László Botár, artist, and by Mr. Ferenc Székedi, art critic. Mr. László Botár presented the Creart project for the participants, and then Mr. Ferenc Székedi appraised the artists.
As part of the event held on 21st of March an action artistic activity for high school students was also organized. After the opening of the exhibition four artists from Harghita County presented their experiences with regard to the last year’s International CreArt events/workshops/exhibitions in partner regions.
